And there was I
busily rehashing an old story,
when next I spotted the birds
doing their usual thing,
but oblivious of yesterday.

    I love what you express here in this poem Rachel, nature the appropriate distraction la some birds as you are busy with an old story, rehashing.
    Very enjoyable read.
